The history of the city is a biography of my lifeI found myself dreaming of another Land—the land of Deutschland—land being the word for country in German. A country rich in history, and also very different from my home country, the United States. Our minds are entities that can develop into a place—full of interests, emotions, thoughts, and the experiences of our lives. I imagined my mind as a city inspired by German architecture and history, as it’s the biggest interest I have. I filled this model with specially designed buildings and landmarks that shaped my life, as if it were a real place. Just like actual cities, this mental map of me has a history of its own.
3D Printed WorldEach piece was constructed using Blender, specifically for this project. Taking inspiration from architecture in German cities like Leipzig, Nuremburg, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, and Mannheim noteably for their renaissance-era style. Taking the history of German cities and having that reflected in my city too.
Neighborhoods and landmarks in the city are created as places of memory housing moments in my life.
